BINGCHUAN WAN 

President, Funder

Bingchuan Wan is an opera singer, soloist, and voice teacher in classical music. Mr. Wan is a native of Jiangsu, China.

As an opera singer, Mr. Wan has performed major roles in many famous operas, including the leading role of Ah Hei Ge in “Ashima”, Angel in Mozart's “The Impresario”, Hoffmann in Offenbach's "The Tales of Hoffmann ", Count Tassilo in Hungarian composer Emmerich Kalman’s operetta "Countess Maritza” and Brother Liu in the Chinese opera "Sister Liu”. Prior to these roles, Mr. Wan had also participated in many operas with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, National Opera House Symphony Orchestra in China. In addition to his opera performances, between 2018 and 2023, Mr. Wan successfully organized dozens of concerts, starting from zoom and transiting to live events. He also was a soloist in many important concerts, such as one to 2022 New world Opera Music Extravaganza in Nara Park, celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sino-American relations, the “Cheers to the Motherland" concert in the Jordan Hall of the New England Conservatory, the concert featuring winners of the American Protégé International Vocal Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York, the concert highlighting winners of the New York Golden Classical Music Award International Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Zigen Foundation Charity Concert.

Mr. Wan has earned many accolades in music competitions. In 2019, he earned first prize in the New York Golden Classical Music Award International Competition, and Salzburg International Music Competition, Amsterdam International Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition. At the same year, Mr. Wan became the Honor Competition Winner of Longy School of Music of Bard College. Otherwise, as an outstanding Asian tenor, Earlier in China, Mr. Wan won second place in the vocal music competition of the "Shanghai Spring" International Music Festival.

While active in singing performances, Mr. Wan has also committed himself to vocal music education and founded his own Boston-based vocal studio in 2018. Then in 2020, he and his wife soprano Jingyi Huang co-founded New World Opera LLC. in Massachusetts.   Specifically, he held vocal music master classes and monthly live Streaming Vocal Public Welfare Lecture covering Massachusetts and the entire North America region for many vocal music lovers. Mr. Wan also serves as a vocal judge for the United States Golden Peony Art Festival International Music Competition, the North America Alumni Friendly Voice Singing Competition, and the Chinese version of “The Voice.”

Apart from this, Mr. Wan Bingchuan has actively engaged in social affairs, serving as the vocal director for the Boston regional competition of the International Fashion Tourism Miss Pageant and as the principal of the Boston Brookline Chinese Language School. Due to Mr. Wan Bingchuan’s exceptional personal accomplishments and his contributions to community music development, major media outlets have covered his story, and he has been featured on Yahoo, Tencent, and Sina.
Mr. Wan received his Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Graduate Performance Diploma in Opera from Longy School of Music of Bard College. He is a graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a master degree in vocal performance granted in2010. He was an opera singer with the China National Opera House.

 

JINGYI HUANG

Co-Funder 


Hailed as a “Heavenly Voice” by Sing Tao Daily, soprano Jingyi Huang is a soloist, opera singer, and voice teacher in classical music. 
As an opera singer, Ms. Huang has played the critical roles in many operas, including the leading role of Madame Goldentrill in Mozart's “The Impresario”, Olympia in Offenbach's "The Tales of Hoffmann ", Countess Maritza in Hungarian composer Emmerich Kalman’s operetta "Countess Maritza” and Yang Yisow in the Chinese opera "Jiang Jie” with the Shanghai Opera House. Prior to these roles, Ms. Huang had also participated in many operas with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her opera performances, Ms. Huang was a soloist performing in the Leonard Bernstein Centennial Concert in the Natick Art Center of Boston. She also appeared at the concert featuring winners of the American Protégé International Vocal Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York and the concert highlighting winners of the New York Golden Classical Music Award International Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York. Ms. Huang has attained accolades in many music competitions. In 2019, she won first prize in the New York Golden Classical Music Award International Competition, the Salzburg International Music Competition, and the Amsterdam International Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition. And she received second prize in Worcester Music Competition (vocal group). 
While active in singing performances, Ms. Huang has also actively dedicated herself to vocal music education. She founded her own vocal studio in Boston in 2019, her students have won awards multiple times in both America and international competitions. In 2020, Ms.Huang and her husband Bingchuan Wan co-founded New World Opera LLC. In Massachusetts. 
December 2020, she became the member of board of Boston Brookline Chinese School. Born in Chengdu, China, Ms. Huang received her master’s degree in vocal performance and Graduate Performance Diploma in Opera from Longy School of Music of College. She is a graduate of Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a master’s degree in vocal performance granted in 2009. In China, Ms. Huang was an opera singer with the Shanghai Opera House and China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre. Due to her outstanding personal artistic achievement, she received reports and interviews from Sing Tao Daily, World Journal and Yangtze Evening News, and many media reprinted her reports, such as Sina, Yahoo, Sohu and Tencent etc.
 

 

ZIZHAO WANG

Bass-Baritone
Zizhao Wang, operatic bass-baritone from Qingdao(Tsingtao), China. He completed his Bachelor of Music degree, Master of Music degree and Graduate Diploma at New England Conservatory. He studied under Mr. Bradley Williams during his years at New England Conservatory.
He won the first prize in Singapore International Music Festival in the Summer of 2013. In the summer of 2014, he had his recital “Student’s Love to Hometown” at Qingdao Concert Hall in China, and had some big social influence. Peninsula City News in Qingdao said,
“This recital attracted a lot of people in Qingdao and also in the country, and pushed classical music and opera to the public in a brilliant way.”
In the same year he was invited to sing in the concert of The 50th Year Anniversary of China Conservatory. In February 2016, he was the bass soloist in Haydn’s “Lord Nelson Mass” at the New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. In December 2016, he performed Bach “Christmas Oratorio” as the bass soloist at Jordan Hall. In 2018, he appeared in New England Conservatory’s opera spring production, “The Magic Flute” as the role of Sarastro at Cutler Majestic Theatre under the baton of Douglas Kinney Frost. In the same year, he appeared in Handel’s opera “Serse” as the role of Elviro at New England Conservatory. He joined Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center in the summer of 2018, appeared in Rossini’s opera “La Cenerentola” as the role of Alidoro with conductor Craig Kier, and also coverd the role of Bonzo in Puccini’s opera “Madama Butterfly” which was conducted by Michael Sakir. He performed “Bernstein Mass” by Leonard Bernstein as a member of the street singers with the Brevard Music Center Orchestra and renowned Keith Lockhart, who also conducts the “Boston Pops” of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He appeared in Mozart’s opera “Le nozze di Figaro” as the role of Bartolo at The Paramount Center under the baton of Robert Tweten and Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” as Simone at The Huntington Theatre with conductor Christopher Larkin. He was awarded 2nd place at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition New England Regional Finals in 2019. He was selected to participate the Santa Fe Opera’s Apprentice Artist Program in the summer of 2020. He was invited back to his hometown with the Tsingtao Opera Theater, premiered the prize winning opera “Country & Home” as the role of Yang Yaozu at 2021 Chinese National Opera Festival. He is returning to the United States to join the Knoxville Opera, singing the role of Bartolo in their new production of “Le nozze di Figaro” in April, 2023.

 

JIA SHI 

Pianist/Coach

is known for her infection enthusiasm, and dynamic performances.
embarked on a teaching career in the Boston region, was born into a musical family in Guangzhou. She was strongly influenced by her grandfather, Mingxin Shi, a renowned conductor in China. Ms. Shi has won top prizes in several prestigious Chinese Competitions, including First prize and recognition for Best Performance in the Kaiserburg Competition in China. Other competition awards include the Sendai Piano Competition in Japan, the Horowitz Piano competition in Kiev, Ukraine. Her musical education includes several full scholarships for Graduate study with international soloist Alexander Korsantia at New England Conservatory, undergraduate and graduate studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing under world renowned professor Zhihong Guo.
Ms. Shi is embarked on a teaching career in the Boston region. Ms. Shi is founder of New England Piano Cultural Exchange. In 2017, Ms. Shi successfully organize piano program in Tanglewood; She has long-term cooperative relationship with several top music schools in United States, including the Juilliard School of Music, and Manhattan Music, Longy School of Music, Boston Conservatory of Music, Boston University. From years, dozens of students were selected by juries and specially invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York; Mozart University in Salzburg, Austria and National Concert Hall in Paris, France; Paderewski Music Hall in Tarnow, Poland. Ms. Shi is selected as Honorary Teacher by Steinway & Son. Ms. Shi serves as the Chairperson of Hamlet Davidson Piano Competition; the Chairperson of Music Teacher National Association State Performance Competition; Director of Global Outstanding Chinese Artist Association; the Board of Massachusetts Music Teacher Association; Ms. Shi is also an Artist Faculty of San Francisco Conservatory Music festival; Piano Faculty at Dana Hall School of Music and Community Musical Theater Director at Dana Hall School of Music.
Highlights of her 2019-22 season includes performances of 250 Anniversary of Beethoven in Boston. During 2020 Pandemic, with support of Steinway & Son, Ms. Shi organized Fund-raising Concert for people who affected by the pandemic. Two students are honored to be laureates in Chopin Competition for the youth in Poland.

 

NANQIAO LYU

Pianist/Coach

Nanqiao Lyu is a pianist, chamber musician, piano educator, researcher in music teaching, and Deputy Chief of “Huaxing Art Troupe”.
Born in China, Ms. Lyu graduated with the highest honors from Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and Moscow State Pedagogical University. Nanqiao Lyu performed solo concerts in the past, with her first solo in Harbin Youth Palace at the age of nine. In August 2000, she was invited to play with the Symphony Orchestra of Harbin Pedagogical University at the “Harbin Summer” Festival. In 2004, she played another solo concert at Baisi Music Center in Shenyang. From 2014 to 2021, she also held solo concerts in Italy, Russia, China. She also participated in all performances with the “Huaxing Art Troupe” from 2019.
Nanqiao Lyu is a distinguished competition winner, her excellent techniques and performance are further recognized by international competitions such as the 2015 Open International Competition of Pianists and Piano Ensembles (Moscow, 3rd Prize), 2018 Rachmaninov International Festival Competition (Russia, Grand Prize), 4th International Competition for Young Pianists (Russia, 1st Prize). In 2019.
Ms. Lyu was also awarded 1st Prize at the New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Ms. Lyu is now a leading piano teacher in New York and Boston. Winning competitions paved her way to the international audience and solidified Ms. Lyu’s reputation as a piano instructor. She has inspired many student competitors to practice harder and reach further inside themselves to achieve greater results and successfully ushered many students to win piano competitions. Ms. Lyu is also a researcher in music teaching, She has published 9 articles in eight prestigious professional journals regarding teaching methods.

 

RUI LI

Pianist/Coach

Run Li is an International pianist, vocal coach, and piano educator. She is the Educational Partner with Steinway & Sons. Graduated from Longy School of Music of Bard College with her Master of Music degree, as well as a Graduate Performing Diploma in Piano Performance. During her years at Longy, she studied under world renowned concert pianist & conductor, Benjamin Hochman. After Mr. Hochman left position, she studied with Rieko Aizawa, who is the principal pianist at Horszowski Trio.
She has also been invited as a judge to numerous world renowned competitions and won the instructors’ award as well, from 2018 to 2020, she has won multiple educational awards with the organizations of Crescendo International Music Competition, and American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. In 2021, she was invited to judge the 7th Internationaler Deutscher Irmler-Klavierwettbewerb China Regional Semifinals. In the same year, she was invited by the “Qingdao Piano Association” to their 2021 Piano Competition as a member of Expert Panels.
In 2022, she received an invitation from the Macao Piano Competition Organization to judge their 11th International Piano Competition. She was also invited by one of the most renowned competition organizations in China, “Xinghai Cup Piano Competition”, later she participated as a jury member of the 19th Xinghai Cup Piano Competition. In June, she was invited by Blüthner-Internationales Festival der Musikkunst und der dritte Deutsch-Ronisch-Internationale Klavierwettbwerb to become their China Regional judge. She performed numerous concerts in different periods and styles with Longy School of Music’s Chamber Orchestra as a principal pianist. She’s also one of the most active pianists performing around the world.
She performed with over 20 colleges and organizations around the world in their student recital series, opera, and musical theater productions, such as New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, The Juilliard School, and Manhattan School of Music.
Ms. Li founded LR Music Studio in the Greater Boston area in 2017, her students won multiple important international or national competitions around the world, and had the chance to perform in some of the greatest concert halls such as the Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, BSO’s Symphony Hall, etc…s.

 

SHIRU WANG

Opera director

Master of Arts in Drama Directing, London East School of Drama, University of Essex, UK; Opera and Musical Theatre Director; Screenwriter; Opera Actor; Instructor of Research and Practice of Voice and Body Drama Performance and Teaching; Founder of Kongdi Culture Voice and Body New Opera Creation Studio . The new opera work “Monk. Lotus” written, written and directed by the British “Grimm Bonn” International Opera Festival and the British “Tate” Modern Opera Festival was invited to perform in London; invited by China Shanghai International Arts Festival to write and direct experimental opera “Liao Zhai.
